So, as I already mentioned I've now turned 30. Still feels great! I had a little family gathering at my parents house (since we still haven't found/bought a house for ourselves) ...



I had invited my family and Johan's family and we ate some grilled steak and chicken with pasta sallad. For dessert we ate som great cakes that my mom and dad had made for the party. I had a really good time and I received some nice presents, the flowers I got were beautiful and smelled and looked good in the appartment for a week. Too bad they don't last longer ...

This week I was at a conference with my coworkers and we went to a place that specialize at team building activities. It was a lot of fun and challenging. One of the things we had the possibility to try out was the "high" road. It was an adventure area focusing on height, one of the challenges was an adventure built 9 meters (28 feet I think) up in the trees, which I did not dare to do, the other was an adventure with an 8 meter (25 feet) telephone pole.

To understand what a challenge this was for me I have to describe how afraid I am of heights, I do not even dare to go more than 2 steps on the ladder before I get height-sick. So basically I was terrified, but I really wanted to challenge this fear of mine!

So I chose to do the telephone adventure. The trick was to climb up the pole and at the top stand up and jump out in the air and touch a bag hanging 8 meters up in the sky. Even though I had a security rope tied to me the whole time it was still scary and I was shaking afterwards.

I climbed up as fast as I could to leave little time to think about what I was doing, at the top of the pole I had to turn around to face the bag that was hanging in the air, and that was the most challenging part for me, I looked down once and after that I only kept my eyes on the target. I realized that if I looked down again I would not dare to jump. But I did and it was a liberating feeling, when I was leveled down to the grownd afterwards I was shaking all over, both from the adrenaline rush and the challenge itself, but it was a great feeling to have accompliched it!

The weekend before my birthday Johan took me on a surprise trip to one of the largest islands in Sweden, called Öland. We had a wonderful time and were lucky to have nice weather, despite how the rest of the summer has been. It was great to have a get-away and just relax  and take walks at the beach and visit beautiful sites.
